Health Tips - Caffeine, The Most Commonly Consumed Drug

Caffeine, The Most Commonly Consumed Drug

Caffeine is the most widely used "psychoactive" chemical. This means it has a significant effect on mood, behavior and perception. It stimulates and if used in enough quantity, it depresses. It is found in several plants, where it acts as a natural pesticide killing insects that feed on the plants.

Despite the conventional view that it is a safe substance, it contributes to health issues such as irritability, anger, sleep difficulties, anxiety, headaches, depression, restlessness, heart palpitations, lowered immune function and yeast infections. As caffeine increases the production of stomach acid, it can lead to all manner of digestive problems. It is also a diuretic, removing much needed water from your body.

As with all drugs, the apparent pleasure hides the ill effects. Caffeine is harmful to your liver, kidneys, adrenals, pancreas and nervous system. The more caffeine you drink, the less effect you get (making you want more of it) and the more health trouble it causes.

Withdrawal

Because stopping it all at once can result in headaches and other physical stress, I recommend coming off of it slowly. Reducing your intake gradually makes the transition easy.

Off caffeine, you will find that your body stays younger longer with fewer troubles! Try caffeine-free herbal teas or Teeccino Java flavor (an herbal coffee substitute) instead.
