What Causes Nerve Problems?
Symptoms of nerve problems include numbness or neuropathy, pain, pins and needles, twitches, tremors or even unusual feelings of electricity in the nerves. The brain is the central part of the nervous system and can also be affected, giving symptoms such as poor mental function, foggy-headedness and inability to concentrate. Another major symptom is lack of balance.
Despite the huge variety of names given different nerve problems, the cause of all nerve issues lies in the fact that there has been some injury or stress to the entire nervous system or portions of it.
Traditional Treatment of Nerve Problems
Most commonly nerve problems are medicated to either kill pain or to attempt to alter the nerve chemistry. Drugs to alter the nerve chemistry, Dr. Pepi has found, are largely ineffective. Additionally many drugs cause unwelcome side effects and actually prevent the body from healing the nervous system, due to the toxicity of the drug.

The priority is to get the nervous system into a healing state. It’s extremely unusual to be in a healing state, most nervous systems are in fact in a degeneration trend. - Full review of your health condition, current diet and lifestyle. As part of the consultation we collect full information from you about your nerve problems, other health conditions, current diet, lifestyle and other information you think is relevant. This is reviewed by Dr. Pepi.
- Determination of the underlying causes of your condition. Using the information provided and with further questioning, Dr. Pepi is able to find the correct physical source of your nerve problems and tailor a program that will help relieve it.
- Supplement & Diet Program. Dr. Pepi will advise you on which diet to follow and which exact supplements to take.
- Lifestyle Recommendations. Your lifestyle and environment can be a major factor in causing or aggravating your health condition. Dr. Pepi isolates which elements of your lifestyle and environment are detrimental to your health as well as which, if changed, would speed up relief of your stomach or digestive problems.
- Get your questions answered. Get all your questions about your nerve problems and health answered. Dr. Pepi and her staff will also educate you and let you know what to expect as you do your health program.
Fees depend on the length of the consultation and range between $125.00 and $250.00 for the first consultation. The length of the consultation is determined by you and what you want to handle.

"In December 2003 I had an MRI done which showed that I had MS (multiple sclerosis). Last year, I started seeing Dr. Anita Pepi, who started me on a program of supplements and lots of veggies, sleep, etc.
"In 2005, she recommended I get another MRI, which I did.
"Last week I went to my neurologist to get the results of the comparison of the two MRIs. I was waiting in his office for quite some time. My neurologist walked in a bit dazed and sat on the patient’s bed in the room, crossed his legs and looked at the floor. He slowly started talking in a distinct Harvard accent as if trying to make sense of something. Between a lot of 'well…s' and 'umm…s' he told me that something 'very interesting is happening with your case.' He told me the lesions in my brain are 'getting … smaller.' My neurologist was obviously totally shocked as he said it was “medically… not possible with MS'. He explained that with MS the lesions only get bigger or spread, but don’t disappear. At that point he said he agreed with me that he wasn’t going to be starting treatment with me as “you supposedly have MS, but …they’re getting … smaller.”
