Health Tips - Breakfast, Eat For

Breakfast, Eat For

I am often asked, "What should I eat for breakfast?"   Possibly there have been too many decades of advertisements for breakfast cereal!  My answer always is, "Eat food for breakfast!"

People tend to think of food as, "What I eat."  This is usually based on what has been promoted to them by food industries via TV, movies, magazines and stores.

Here is my definition:  "Food is what gives true energy to your body to do what it needs to do.  It provides your body with substances necessary for life and growth."  Stimulants such as caffeine or sugar give a sense of energy that is false.  While this may be fun, it isn’t nourishment.

Most bodies are supported by food such as vegetables, fruit, whole grains, raw nuts, seaweed, etc. that grow in nature.  Fish, eggs and animal meat that exist in nature can nourish as well.  Energy can result.

If it is formulated and packaged in a factory such as a canned or boxed item, it is unlikely to give as much zip to your body.  Think fresh and minimally processed when you make your choices.

The game is to stock body-friendly food in your kitchen and create endless combinations with these items that your taste buds really enjoy.
