Health Tips Library - Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
To reduce the spread of germs in your bathroom:
- Please refrain from sharing toothbrushes and toothpaste.
- Find your own favorite toothpaste and sign your name on it with magic marker near the cap.
- Find your own spot in a drawer or cabinet for your toothbrush and toothpaste that is not close to others. Toothbrushes that are free standing can be coughed on, toilet bowl vapors can land on them -- you get the point.
- Every week or so, pour 3% hydrogen peroxide into a small glass and soak only your toothbrush in that glass over night.
- Buy a pack of toothbrushes for sleepover guests. Set aside a separate tube of toothpaste for them that you label "guests". In our house certain children sleep over enough that they each have their own labeled Ziploc™ bag with a toothbrush in it.
Easy peasy and likely to reduce the number of cavities and sore throats in your home!
Good luck!
